Türkler Buna Dikkat Etmeli: Yanıltıcı Kelimeler
Bazı kelimeler Türkçeye benzediği için yanlış anlaşılır. Apartment “apartman” değil, binadaki tek bir “daire” demektir; binanın tamamı için apartment building (İngiltere’de block of flats) kullanılır. Gymnasium ise “lise” değil, “spor salonu” anlamına gelir ve günlük dilde kısaca gym denir. Ayrıca kartta geçen gasoline station yerine Amerika’da genellikle gas station, İngiltere’de petrol station denir.
